From Alberta, I received my BA in English from U of Lethbridge/West Bretton College (UK). Since 1997, I have taught English at AV资源, and served as Chair from 2007-2013. Completing my MA and PhD at UVic, I specialize in narratology, feminist psychoanalytic literary theory, and 18th century/modernist writing. My thesis,聽Disembodied Voices in James Joyce's Ulysses, and dissertation,聽Relational Narrative Desire: Intersubjectivity and Transsubjectivity in Novels of H.D. and Virginia Woolf,聽present narratological models for analysing modernist, voice-centred novels. I was awarded the UVic Graduate Teacher Award of Excellence and a UVic Graduate Teaching Fellowship. I have taught at Red Deer College, Medicine Hat College, and UVic.聽 I am an ISW facilitator, B.C. Chair Academy Leader, a group fitness instructor, and a mother. Maureen is currently working half-time as the English Placement Counsellor at the AV资源 Assessment Centre on the Lansdowne campus.
