Prepare for a career in marketing

You'll gain a solid business education and develop the practical skills that you will need to be successful in a range of marketing roles.听
After graduation
With a听Diploma in Business Administration 鈥 Marketing Option, you will be prepared to work in entrepreneurial enterprises, business, not-for-profits, government and community tourism environments in areas such as marketing and sales management, public relations, advertising and customer service.
You will also graduate with credit towards the听Bachelor of Business Administration听programs at Camosun. There is also 2-year block transfer credit to degree programs at other institutions including Royal Roads University and the University of Lethbridge. Transfer credit to other post-secondary institutions on a course-by-course basis is available.

What to expect
The听program consists of 20听courses听which can be completed in approximately two听years if taken on a full-time basis. Evening and daytime classes are held predominantly at the Interurban campus and the program can be taken on a part-time basis.
Year 1
In the first year, you'll work through introductory鈥搇evel courses in accounting, finance, economics, and marketing. Exit the program now with a Certificate in Business Administration or continue onto the year 2.
Year 2
In your second year, you'll work through marketing research, creative selling, and entrepreneurship courses. Exit the program now with a Diploma in Business Administration-Marketing Option.
Co-operative Education option听
Apply your classroom skills in the workplace and bring your workplace skills back to the classroom! When you engage in co-operative education, you get an early start on preparing for your career after graduation! You will have the opportunity to alternate between full-time studies and full-time paid work where you can bring your applied learning classroom to life.
To participate in Co-operative Education, prior to your first work term you will need to successfully complete
- Eight (8) first year courses, with a cumulative听GPA听of 3.0 (C+), and
- the Career Development-Workplace Preparation Skills (CDEV-WPS) course

Under Canadian Immigration Law, as an international student you are eligible to participate in co-operative education and you can legally work in Canada during specified work terms. Program participation requirements
- Many first year business courses require math as a prerequisite (e.g. 鈥淐鈥 in Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11,听MATH 073,听MATH 077, MATH 137,听or 鈥淐+鈥 in听MATH 072,听MATH 075, or MATH 135).听Students may enter this program without math but please note, students must complete one of the Math courses as listed above or successfully complete Camosun鈥檚 math assessment in or before their first semester of study.
