AV资源 will be celebrating everything Korean at this year鈥檚 Korean Cultural Festival, Sept. 12, 2024, 11am to 3pm at Na`tsa`maht on the Lansdowne campus. The festival is a significant event at Camosun, bringing together people of all backgrounds to celebrate Korean traditions, arts and cuisine.
鈥淭his is a much-anticipated event for Camosun every year,鈥 says Marius Langeland, Associate Director, International Partnerships and Projects, Camosun International. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an incredible opportunity for the community to experience just some of the incredible culture that Korea has to offer.鈥
A popular event since 2016, with a pause during the Covid pandemic, the festival has served as a platform for cultural exchange and community connections. Guests can expect a day full of good food, crafts stations, Korean games, live music and performances.
The festival is a collaboration between Camosun鈥檚 School of Arts and Science, AV资源 Student Society and Camosun International with contributions and sponsorship from a variety of partners such as Hallym University in South Korea (one of Camosun鈥檚 longest standing Study Abroad partners for over 10 years), the Korean Cultural Centre in Ottawa, and the Korean Consulate of Vancouver. Food will be provided by Sushi Story.
AV资源 has approximately 2,100 international students, including over 30 students from Korea, adding to the cultural diversity on campus and in the classroom. Camosun also offers several Korean language courses at the level of introductory and intermediate.
Established in 1971, Camosun is one of the largest colleges in British Columbia with campuses on the territories of the l蓹k虛史蓹艐蓹n and W瘫S脕NE膯 peoples. For over 50 years, Camosun has been delivering innovative, relevant and applied education, supporting communities, businesses and employers.
