AV资源 and the Chargers Athletics Program, along with the CCAA and the PACWEST, are excited to announce that the CCAA National Men鈥檚 Volleyball Championship will return to Victoria, B.C. for 2024.
The championship will take place March 7-10, 2024 at the Pacific Institute for Sport Education (PISE).
鈥淭he Chargers men鈥檚 volleyball program has become one of the top programs in the country as they have consistently qualified for the CCAA Championships and twice captured gold in the last seven years,鈥 said Ray Sarkis, CCAA Men鈥檚 Volleyball Convenor. 鈥淲e are very pleased to have the event return to Camosun once again and look forward to their outstanding hospitality in beautiful Victoria.鈥
The Chargers, coming off a gold-medal performance at the 2022 CCAA Men鈥檚 Volleyball National Championship in Quebec City, vow to be a competitive host. Camosun also earned a national title in 2015. The Chargers, perennial contenders in B.C., have earned 10 PACWEST titles in men鈥檚 volleyball since the 1998-1999 season 鈥 including four consecutive crowns from 2015-2018.
Camosun hosted well-attended CCAA Championships in 2017 and 2018, receiving highly positive reviews for their execution, atmosphere, and student-athlete experience.
鈥淲e believe that these successful experiences at the national level, combined with our history of hosting volleyball national championships in the recent past, and our state-of-the-art facility, PISE, gives us a well-defined framework for running events of this magnitude,鈥 said Scot Cuachon, Manager, Athletics & Student Life at Camosun. 鈥淭he sport experience brings to light the power of inclusivity, and with this in mind, we are focused on delivering a first-class championship experience to student-athletes and all other participants alike.鈥
The tournament will feature eight teams from across Canada: conference champions from the PACWEST, Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC), Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), R茅seau du sport 茅tudiant du Qu茅bec (RSEQ) and Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA), as well as a wildcard team and the host Chargers.
The 2023 CCAA Men鈥檚 Volleyball National Championship will be hosted by Humber College in Etobicoke, ON, from March 8-11.
The Camosun Chargers Athletics Program currently fields teams in basketball and volleyball. Since joining the CCAA and PACWEST conferences in 1994, the Chargers have competed in over 100 national and provincial championships with over 50 medal winning finishes.
