"We're accepting new patients of all ages, both adult and children," explains Camosun Dental Hygiene Instructor Liz Morch. "And, we have additional safety protocols in place during the pandemic to ensure everyone's safety."
All the clinic's usual preventive services, from full assessments to removal of tartar, fluoride treatments, x-rays and sealants continue to be offered during the pandemic, under strict guidelines established by B.C.'s Provincial Health Officer, BC Centre for Disease Control, Island Health, WorkSafeBC and the College of Dental Hygienists of BC.
"We understand people are nervous right now and we want to put them at ease," says Morch. "It's an important reminder that maintaining preventive dental care during the pandemic is highly recommended and we are here to help."
Fees are kept to a minimum鈥攊nitial screenings are free, and new adult appointments cost $60 ($40 for returning clients). Costs for children's appointments range from $5 to $20 depending on the age of the child.
Additional information on the safety measures implemented under COVID-19 conditions is provided when clients schedule appointments.
"Your oral health is important to us," adds Morch. "And in return, each client is essential to our students' success by giving them the professional experience they need to succeed."
